Sesame Seed Cookies (aka Biscotti Regina)

Crunchy and delicious but not as dry as your traditional sesame cookie. One of my Mom's favorite cookies.


SESAME SEED COOKIES / BISCOTTI REGINA

  • 3 Cups Flour

  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder

  • 1 Cup Sugar

  • 1 Cup Crisco Butter Flavor Shortening

  • 3 Eggs

  • 4 Teaspoons Anise Extract

  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract

  • Sesame Seeds

Directions:

  1. Whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour & 2 tsp baking powder.

  2. In a mixer bowl, cream 1 cup sugar & 1 cup shortening.

  3. Add 3 eggs & 4 tsp. anise extract & 2 tsp vanilla extract and mix well.

  4. Add the dry ingredients & mix on low until blended.

  5. Roll dough into 2-inch fingers, roll in sesame seeds and bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes or until browned as desired.
