Crunchy and delicious but not as dry as your traditional sesame cookie. One of my Mom's favorite cookies.
SESAME SEED COOKIES / BISCOTTI REGINA
3 Cups Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Crisco Butter Flavor Shortening
3 Eggs
4 Teaspoons Anise Extract
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
Sesame Seeds
Directions:
Whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour & 2 tsp baking powder.
In a mixer bowl, cream 1 cup sugar & 1 cup shortening.
Add 3 eggs & 4 tsp. anise extract & 2 tsp vanilla extract and mix well.
Add the dry ingredients & mix on low until blended.
Roll dough into 2-inch fingers, roll in sesame seeds and bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes or until browned as desired.
