Baked Ziti




BAKED ZITI


Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 oz.) package ziti pasta

  • 32 oz. container whole milk ricotta cheese

  • 1 lb. bag of shredded mozzarella

  • ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 ½ cups of gravy (or sauce)

  • Parsley

  • Fresh basil

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Bring a large pot of slightly salted water to a boil and cook ziti as directed (8-12 minutes or until al dente; drain and rinse).

  3. Combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley, fresh basil and spaghetti sauce together. Add cooked ziti to mixture and mix well.

  4. Transfer into the prepared baking dish. Top with more spaghetti sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes; let stand for 15 minutes before serving.

  6. Top with fresh basil and serve with a loaf of Italian or garlic bread.
