Fall off the bone, finger-licking good!

BABYBACK RIBS

Dry Rub Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed

  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons seasoning salt (I use Kosher)

  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder

  • 1/2 - 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper

  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

(I buy a pack of baby back ribs from Sam’s Club so this recipe is for 3 racks.)

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients above and mix well.

  2. Loosen the membrane on the back of the ribs with a butter knife and pull off with a paper towel.

  3. Place each slab of ribs on a piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil, shiny side down. Sprinkle each side generously with the dry rub and pat the dry rub into the meat. Place ribs MEAT SIDE DOWN and bake on a sheet pan for 2 hours on 250 degrees.

  4. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes. Increase oven temp to 350 degrees.

  5. Open foil, drain juice and discard juice and turn the ribs over to the MEAT SIDE UP and brush both sides with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce (or your favorite) and bake for 10 minutes. Repeat every 10 minutes for one hour (a total of 5 times) but only the meat side for the remainder of the time with the MEAT SIDE UP, leaving foil open.
